The Porsche 911 is the flagship of the current line up of Porsche. It is a two-door grand tourer made by Porsche AG of Stuttgart, Germany. It has a distinctive design, rear-engined and with independent rear suspension, an evolution of the swing axle on the Porsche 356. The teams marketing department consulted with PD in creating and implementing its marketing activity specifically for the 911 marque. The Porsche 911 is a unique and exciting car. PD was tasked to capture that excitment using the latest technology available in an iPad application, to create the Porsche 911 HD iPad Application.
Plot has been commissioned to help update German automaker Porsche iPad application to cocoon consumers and aspirational consumers in a unique brand environment focusing on its 911 models The app is designed in full HD and contains integrated video as well as a function allowing users to view their favorite model in a 360-degree rotation, go on a virtual test drive, find a local dealer and browse the catalogue. The Porsche 911 app is available for free in Apples App Store. The app is divided into four sections, the first of which being test drive. This section starts out with a video of a 911 Carrera driving around that then switches and enables the consumer to virtually get into the drivers seat to take the car for a spin. Consumers can tilt the iPad right or left to take turns and are able to see scenery as though a driver would as the car speeds down a scenic route. As the user gets brief glimpses of the cars interior, small text boxes come up that describe a feature. Consumers can click on this box and the ride stops for a brief moment so that they can read technical information on the vehicle. The test drive section also encourages consumers to send a link to friends via email. A second section of the app is a photo gallery of Carreras mid-drive or stopped that are posing with another model or alone. Consumers can save any of these images to their tablets image space. Another section lets consumers view models from a 360-degree angle. Users can swirl their fingers in a circular motion on the screen to see all angels of the interior and exterior of the car. Consumers can take pictures of these angles to save to the iPad. The fourth section is a colorator that gives images and the names of all the shades in which the Carreras are available. In the technical data section, Porsche connects consumers to a mobile-optimized site in the app that allows them to build their own car. Users can also find dealerships and download a catalog using the app. More exciting developments are to come, watch this space.
